Joe Quinlin
Head Coach
Joe Quinlin, MS, SCCC, CSCS, has been the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach since June 2008.
During his time at Northwest, Quinlin has overseen 15 varsity sports and has been a driving force behind the success of Northwest athletics. His passion to improve student-athletes on and off the field is what makes him an instrumental part of the Bearcat family.
A Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Quinlin was employed by the City of Maryville as a personal trainer from 2004 to 2008. During this time, he conducted speed and agility camps where he trained area high school and Northwest student-athletes.
A former member of the 1998 and 1999 National Championship football teams, Quinlin earned a degree in corporate recreation and therapeutic wellness from Northwest in 2000. He obtained his master's from West Virginia University before returning to Maryville in 2003.
He lives in Maryville with his wife, Kelly, and their children - son, Derek, and three daughters, Kori, Austyn and Kendyl.
Jacob Vollstedt
Assistant Coach
Jacob Vollstedt, MS, CSCS has been an assistant strength coach since August 2017.
While at Northwest, Vollstedt has worked with all 15 varsity sports and has been in charge of 4 different teams during his time. He loves to connect with athletes, help them reach their goals and succeed in athletics and in life.
A former team captain and member of the 2013, 2015, and 2016 National Championship football teams, Vollstedt earned his bachelor's degree in corporate recreation in 2017 from Northwest followed by his masters in physical education in 2020.
Strength and Conditioning Specialist certified, Vollstedt is a physical education teacher at Maryville High School, has run speed and agility camps for the past 5 years, and has his own personal training business.
Vollstedt lives in Maryville with his wife, Victoria.
